The Iovine Young Academy aims to instill in its students an entirely new way of thinking. To accomplish this, the program offers a highly select group of students an integrated, four-year course of study that provides in-depth learning in three essential areas: art and design; engineering and computer science; and business and venture management.

  • Photo to Video Conversion

I was tasked with taking any 2D photo found online and transforming it into a 3D scene. This was a challenge in that doing so required creating layers that were not in existence previously and animating them.

    Snapchat Geofilter

I created a stylistic and minimalist geofilter inspired by the architecture for the popular residence hall, Birnkrant at the University of Southern California. It was then approved by Snapchat for official use and is used by hundreds of students every day.

    Cardboard project: Cash Cow

For a project in a design class, I was tasked with creating an enclosed structure out of cardboard. I decided to do a take on the business term "cash cow." After much trial and error with cardboard angles and hot glue, I created this low-poly animal and then decided to create a custom pattern to cover it. Using photoshop, I designed and then printed over a "moo-llion" dollar bills with cows that I then decoupaged on to the structure to create a cow-spot effect. To complete the theme, I attached udders made from coin rolls and quarter coins for the eyes.

    Troy Aquatics Website

As an athlete, I was already involved with the Troy Aquatics Parent Boosters Group, but was contacted during the summer about creating a website for them. The group has very little funds so I researched the cheapest way to create a website with their demands in mind - team rosters, photo galleries, news, staff contact information and profiles, team gear, game schedules, etc. I was able to meet their demands and it costed less than $50.

I managed every single aspect of the website for them - from uploading tournament schedules to logo design. In addition, I worked with the Booster Club's accountant and created a way for families to pay for their athlete's registrations on the website through PayPal. I have since added team gear to the online store and our annual fundraiser, a golf tournament, generated thousands of dollars through our online channels.
